3 Fundamentals of Natural Back Pain Relief

3. Positive Mindset

Studies show that one’s belief system directly influences the pain they experience. Expectations about pain can affect its intensity.  Experts have proven that mind over matter works for relieving pain.  Positive thinking can ease pain by altering how you experience it. It can also have major impacts on the improvement of both mental and physical health.

As a wellness professional,  I’m an avid endorser of mindfulness and the beneficial role it can play in reducing pain. The fact is- most people do not like pain but that doesn’t mean we have to fear it or suffer from it. It’s proven that patients who actually thought their condition was serious developed worsened back pain symptoms. General health can be improved by utilizing positive thinking techniques. The mind is fully capable of developing healthy coping skills. By consistently practicing positive thinking strategies, you can transform negative thoughts into positive perspectives. This is truly a case of “What you put in is what you get out.” Connecting with positive outlets will also reinforce this frame of thought, as well as incorporating a spiritual, mindfulness or meditation regimen into your daily schedule.  Developing a good team, including but not limited to supportive friends/mentors, family, spiritual advisors, therapist, life coach or anyone you feel comfortable being around.

The key is consistency. With enough repetition, positive thinking will become habitual. Whenever you feel yourself being plagued with negative thoughts, stop and immediately counteract them with comforting thoughts and ideas.
