5 Must-Try Workouts for the Cold Weather Months

Snuggling up to a warm fireplace while sipping hot cocoa and watching your favorite romantic comedy, might easily be one of the most coveted on a cold winter day. And although this is a wonderful way to stay warm during the chillier months. Exercise is also a terrific option, offering a two for one deal by providing a perfect way to stay warm and fit at the same time.

If you’re someone that likes to keep active outside, then don’t stop! Halting your exercise routine as soon as the temperatures start to plunge, will only make it harder to get back in the swing of things when you get cabin fever, feel claustrophobic and yearn for the great outdoors. If you’d like to stay active during the colder months, here’s a little list of indoor activities I enjoy and strongly recommend!

Check out these indoor activities that you may or may not have tried. These calorie burning activities are definitely worth giving a shot, at least once.

Hot Yoga

I think this one is the best in the winter months. There is nothing like the feeling of walking into a room over 100 degrees when it’s cold outside. You wont even have to layer up to stay warm. The heat alone you will torch calories!

Rock Climbing

Whether it’s cold or hot outside, rock climbing is an awesome activity. It allows you to workout inside without feeling guilty about not being able to train outside due to poor weather. It also prepares you for the warmer weather when you can actually climb on actual rocks.

Indoor Trampoline

Another fun and lively activity. Oh what fun to, carefree bouncing, just like we did when we were kids. A perfect way to get the jump on stress too(pardon the pun)!

Holiday Window Shopping

I would encourage this on more on an active rest day. The calorie burn isn’t as high but it sure can help! You need to holiday shop anyway so why not sneak in a power walk while you window shop gift options for loved ones.

Dance

Grab a partner or jump into a class. Shaking your hips to great music can frisk those winter blues away!
