4 Reasons You Feel Tired All the Time and How to Change That

You walk a few miles and you feel like you were hit by a truck. You wake up and feel even more exhausted than when you went to bed. You complete a few simple tasks around your home and are immediately in dire need of a nap. You sit at your desk at work and after only a few hours your body and mind suddenly shut down and refuse to cooperate. Whichever little thing you do, and even on those days when you do not have to do a single thing, you still feel exhausted. Does this sound familiar? If you feel tired all the time, often without any particular reason or due to no extraordinary amount of work, there is always a culprit; it could be several of them in fact.  Let’s explore the root of your fatigue and how it can be remedied.

Adrenal Fatigue

According to Dr Axe, adrenal fatigue syndrome affects eight percent of adults worldwide and is caused by a hormonal imbalance. If you’re experiencing symptoms that include (but are not limited to) a feeling of tiredness even after sleep, difficulty falling asleep, muscle and joint pain, headaches, common flu or cold and lack of concentration, there is a very good chance that you are suffering from this condition. The good news is – it can be naturally treated with a few dietary tweaks and changes such as renouncing caffeine, excess sugar and carbohydrates and adopting a healthy diet based on vegetables, healthy fats and protein. Also try exercising and meditation, or any other activity that has proven to be a stress-reliever for you.

Sedentary Lifestyle

This particular issue is something almost every person with a desk job or any job that entails sitting for long periods of time has experienced. A recent research by Queen’s University Belfast suggested that prolonged sitting is just as bad for our health as smoking. Symptoms include soreness, pain in your neck, stiffness, back pain, and chronic headaches and of course a chronic sense of exhaustion. Still, this lifestyle can be the cause of health problems that go beyond soreness and pain, such as deterioration of the spine, and developing a heart condition due to a lack of movement. Luckily, there is an easy solution, or better yet a preventative solution and it is to get moving. Physical activity not only helps with the damage caused by prolonged sitting, but it also brings balance to the metabolism and helps to keep your heart in good shape.

Leaky Gut

If, aside from feeling constantly tired, you’re also experiencing bloating, gas, cramps, have food sensitivities, aches and pains there is a good possibility that you are suffering from leaky gut syndrome. To explain it plainly, this condition is something like having holes in your intestines which in turn allow for particles that should not enter your bloodstream to do so. When this happens, it causes inflammation throughout your body leading to a variety of diseases. The first course of action, if you notice these symptoms, should be to start taking powerful probiotics, such as the ones Biocare has in its offer, in order to maintain a healthy balance of intestinal microflora. If, however, your condition worsens and you notice issues regarding your thyroid gland, as well as weight gain, mood changes and skin inflammation, turn to your physician immediately.

Sleep Deprivation

Although lack of sleep has been listed as one of the symptoms of issues associated with tiredness mentioned previously, this occurrence can quite often be the sole cause of your fatigue. Unfortunately, sleep deprivation can result in more than just fatigue and its consequences extend to the weakening of the immune system, depression and cognitive function issues. In order to reclaim your healthy sleep routine, the first thing you must do is to cut caffeine, alcohol and nicotine from your life. If you are a troubled sleeper try a sound machine since it has been known to help many get a good night’s rest. Even if you are not a believer in aromatherapy, give this hack a try; pour a few drops of lavender or chamomile oil on your pillow as the soothing effects of these oils truly do wonders in the calming department.

Be in sync with your body, listen to it and do not disregard signals it is sending you. Your body is often smarter than you think it is, so if it’s showing you that something might be wrong, pay attention and deal with issues before they become more serious.
