Benefits of Plant-Based Water

Plant-based drinks are sprouting up all over the place. You can find them at grocery store or even make your own. Find out why plant-based drinks are quickly and more readily finding their way from grocery shelves to refrigerators around the world.

1. Aloe Vera Juice

Aloe Vera juice is reportedly good for enhancing immune and digestive health. It is known for aiding in weight loss. Additional benefits include, being full of vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids.  However, aloe vera juice, primarily produced from the green outer leaf, was used as a main component in many over-the-counter laxatives until 2002, when the FDA pulled them from drugstore shelves due to insufficient information regarding their safety. Many manufacturers now decolorize aloe vera leaf (a process in which the aloe vera is passed through a charcoal filter), the components that give aloe vera its laxative properties, the good news is that most manufacturers are now removing anthraquinones. We recommend trying ALO light. This version contains less sugar and honey but still taste great! Yummy, healthy and light alternative to juice.

And guess what else it has?  30 cal per serving. Artichoke juice is also helpful for lowering blood cholesterol and remedying a hangover.

It’s nice to know that maple’s great for more than syrup.  Maple water is another term for maple sap, the clear liquid that flows naturally through sugar maple trees.  It’s naturally full of the electrolytes, minerals and antioxidants which assists thyroid health, bone strength, and vitamin absorption. Maple water is also naturally low in sugar.  This natural sweetener contains polyphenols, antioxidants that suppress inflammation. Oviva is a popular brand of maple water. It only contains 25 calories and taste superb in smoothies, coffee, tea or alone.  See featured video above for more information about maple water.
