How to Stay Fit When You’re Super Busy

Staying healthy is a priority for almost everyone. We all want stay in shape either for our general health, cosmetic purposes, or other reasons. However, staying in shape can sometimes take a backseat when other things crop up in our lives. Finding time togo to the gym can be difficult when you are also trying to balance work, family, and every other aspect of your life.

Luckily, there are ways you can stay in shape even when you are busy and can’t keep up with your normal workout routine.

Be Efficient When You Do Workout

First, let’s take a look at when you have a chance for a workout. After all, even the busiest of people will once in a while find a free moment.

During these moments, the point isn’t to workout for as long as you can. You don’t need to worry too much about endurance training if your goal is to simply stay in shape. Instead, you are going to want to try and workout efficiently.

This means utilizing your time to target certain areas of your body that you want to workout. If you’re feeling ambitious, you can even do a short, intense workout of your full body but this will typically leave you sore the next day which doesn’t always work for busy bodies.

For these types of workouts, many people choose high intensity interval workouts or HIIT workouts for short. These types of workouts focus on working out hard, quickly rather than using a slow, enduring method.

Use Vitamins and Natural Supplements

When you are busy, you can also use natural supplements, vitamins and nootropics to help you find the energy to workout. There are plenty of options that will help you to find the energy you need both mentally and physically.

Some of the best options are coenzyme Q10, vitamin B12, Iron. Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant activity and provides energy to cells. There are also plenty of herbs that will boost your energy levels. Ashwagandha is an herb that is beneficial for treating several health conditions and has been used since ancient times. On top of that, ashwagandha increases body’s energy, successfully fights stress and reduces anxiety. Rhodiola Rosea, also known as “golden root”, enhances energy, improves mood and treats mental fatigue. It has been used in medicine for centuries.

However, if you suffer from certain medical condition, our advice is to consult with medical health professional, before taking any of these supplements. While most of them don’t cause any side effects when take in recommended doses, some people may experience an allergic reaction or intolerance to certain supplements.

Drink Water

It might sound like a small change but you should make sure you are drinking water throughout the day. In fact, you should carry water with you throughout the day. Not only does this make sure that you get enough water, it also keeps you from the temptation of drinking something less healthy. You would be surprised at how easily you can get out of shape if you drink a lot of sugary drinks like soda.

You should also drink water anyway. For the average adult, you need about a half-gallon of water a day minimum. This translates into about 8 glasses of water a day. Drinking more than this, though, won’t hurt you.

Eat Well

Just like you should drink water everyday, you should eat well too. This means making your meals and snacks according to the food pyramid. For instance, you need protein in your diet and you need to make sure to eat your greens.

As the week goes along and you are constantly on the go, though, it can sometimes be easier to grab a candy bar or run through a drive through. To combat this, you can set aside some time on Sundays to plan your meals and snacks for the week. If you already have snacks and meals ready, you are tempted by the convenience of junk food.

Try to Sleep

Finally, you need to remember that sleep is important for your health and fitness. If you are constantly worn out, you won’t be able catch the occasional workout and it can even wear on your general health. The average adult needs around 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night. The odd late night once in a while won’t ruin your health, though.

You should also be aware that too much sleep is also bad for your health. So, the idea that if you don’t get enough sleep during the week you’ll “catch up” on the weekend doesn’t really work.
