For me staying fit is being able to mix and match all my favorite activities to make sure that I am always challenging my body and mind in different ways. I love to compliment something like a big day snowboarding with a yoga class; or surfing with a strength training session. I feel like this helps me stay fit and balanced, and keeps me excited and motivated.
What do you do to stay centered?

I have been practicing meditation for about 2 years now. I have found the practice has helped me bring calm to all parts of my life and definitely helps me stay centered. I added this to my morning routine which includes a morning meditation, a short yoga sequence, and a healthy breakfast. I find that having a morning routine that starts my day off in a way that feels good, helps me feel centered going into any day.

How do you maintain a sense of well-being?

Overall well-being is such a balancing act. For me the little things are what keep me feeling happy and healthy in any situation. Eating foods that energize me, exercising, getting enough sleep, and making time for activities or hobbies that excite me. These things help me feel alive and ready for any challenge that comes my way.

What tips or suggestions do you have for people that maintain rigorous lifestyles-sprinkled with life’s unexpected challenges or hurdles?

It is so hard to balance everything that life throws at you. Between career, family, social life, and health we have our hands full!! I have found that things are so much easier to handle when its all written down. I always write to-do lists and break them down into smaller lists to work towards daily. This way I can feel accomplished at the end of the day when I have things marked off, and feel like I have a handle on everything I have to do.

What’s next on your agenda? Any special projects or resolutions/goals for the new year?  Please share.

I have a busy schedule this season, packed full of snowboard contests! I am so looking forward to it and my main project is just to focus on competing and having fun!

As for New Year resolutions, I like to challenge myself to do little things each year, flossing daily, doing yoga multiple times a week, etc. This year I am trying to learn to speak Spanish, so my resolution is to practice at least one lesson daily
