Another cost to note when considering the Peloton are the Peloton shoes with cleats which will run you $125 for a pair. The Peloton comes with special delta-compatible clip in pedals which means you cannot use regular workout shoes to use the bike. I didn’t realize this when I purchased the bike so I wasn’t able to use it right away like I had planned. Please also note that Peloton recommends a new set of clip in pedals annually, they run for $60 on their website.
I personally did not want to spend an additional $125 for shoes so I purchased some easy to install, $20 pedals with toe clips from amazon, boom! It is also important to add that Peloton offers “try before you buy,” which gives you a 30 days to test the bike to see if you like it enough to pay for it. The 30 day guarantee definitely gave me peace of mind. If you take 4 or more Peloton classes a week, the convenience of home value and on demand classes is worth it. If you are not ready to go back to a gym during this pandemic, Peloton is a great choice.
