Speaking of jams, Peloton instructors play some awesome music to keep you motivated and on top of your workout. If you like a song that comes on you can heart it on your screen which then saves to a favorite playlist which I think is a fun feature! Some other fun features that I have grown to appreciate are the nice big tablet screen and all the stats that it provides such as ride time, current speed, distance, cadence, resistance, output, intensity, and calories burned. When you see “output” it means the amount of energy you are outputting in the current moment, average, and in total, which determines your place on the leaderboard.
The leaderboard is another feature that keeps me motivated in my workouts. The leaderboard populates during a live class as other riders log in, showing their usernames, gender, age, and location. This feature can be highly motivating as it incites you to keep up. On the flip side, it can be a bit discouraging when everyone keeps passing you up on the leaderboard. When that happens, I simply hide the leaderboard from the screen so I can focus on my workout instead of focusing on competing.
The achievement badges are a nice bonus feature. You receive an achievement badge for different actions such as reaching your first ride. You can also receive other badges for other classes such as walking, strength classes, stretching, yoga, meditation, cardio, etc. The more badges you collect, the more you are motivated to ride more and work hard.
