‘Tis the Season for Pumpkin
When it comes to the seasons changing to fall, many people think of pumpkin or at least Starbucks reminds us very quickly.
There are most likely things in your life that all you would need to do is add pumpkin and it would create a whole new experience for your taste buds!
For me, the simplest way I add pumpkin into my life is throwing it into my post workout protein smoothie
My Protein Smoothie Base Recipe
-1 frozen banana
-1 scoop vanilla protein powder
-1 cup ice
-1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Pump it up with Pumpkin
-1/4 cup pumpkin puree
-3/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
-1/4 tsp cinnamon
THROW IN BLENDER
For snacking, I am a huge fan of raw veggies with hummus. Yup, you can add some pumpkin into this too for a new fall twist!
My Base Hummus Recipe
-2 TBS fresh squeezed lemon juice
-2 TBS raw organic tahini
-3 crushed garlic cloves
-pinch of sea salt
-2 (15 ounce) cans garbanzo beans, drained
-2 tsp cold pressed extra-virgin olive oil
-1 tsp ground cumin
-1 pinch paprika
For the Pumpkin Twist
-1 (15 ounce) can organic pumpkin puree
Pulse everything together in a food processor. For an addition pumpkin spin and crunch, fold in some toasted pumpkin seeds.
I have been enjoying overnight oats for a while now as my breakfast. I was excited to add in the additional fall pumpkin flavor to this staple of mine.
My Overnight Oat Base Recipe
-1/4 cup Bob’s Gluten Free Oats
-1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
-cinnamon to taste-I like a lot
-2 packets of stevia
Pumpkin Overnight Oats
-1 cup organic pumpkin puree
-1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
Place everything in a bowl, mix it all together and place in refrigerator overnight to enjoy the next morning. In the morning if it is too think then simply add a little more of the almond milk to your liking consistency. Feel free to top with more cinnamon, maybe a few nuts or some almond butter
With these three examples, you can see how easy it is to add more pumpkin into your life. Think of the things you consume on a daily basis and see where you can add pumpkin in. I would love to hear your creations!
