How do you stay well and fit? What do you do to stay centered? How do you maintain a sense of well-being?

I do various things to stay well and fit.  I agree wholeheartedly that the body needs change and stimulation from different outlets to create balance.  Achieving this state of balance is ideal and key when making decisions in my life.

It starts with how I approach waking up in the morning.  Since my days are filled a lot with unplanned tasks to accomplish I start my day in control.  I take a moment to wake up peacefully with a few breathes and a think of what is best for me today.  Then comes sipping on some coffee and answering e-mails.  To feel a sense of accomplishment early in the day sets a positive driven start to trickle into the rest of my day.

Throughout the day I give myself little pep talks.  It helps keep me on track and keep me on the right path.  This is extremely helpful when negative thoughts cross my mind or when something seems overwhelming or impossible in the moment.  When you take the time to think it out and give positive energy to it, you’d be surprised how much positive energy you can feel.

I keep my home stocked with fresh healthy foods.  My meals are based on protein and veggies.  Lots and lots of salads, with tons of fun toppings.  I don’t like a boring salad!  I need it to be full of flavor and color!  If I want a sweet, then I make it so it isn’t easy for me to just reach in the kitchen cabinet for it.  If I really want it then I am willing to go out and get it.  If I don’t really want it then I didn’t want it that bad!

What tips or suggestions do you have for people that maintain rigorous lifestyles-sprinkled with life’s unforeseen challenges or unexpected hurdles?

Like my above answer, for me, it works to accomplish things in the morning before others things can come into play in my day.  Taking the extra time to wake up a bit earlier to focus on yourself is very important.  At the end of the day your wellness is what is most important.  If you can sneak something in later in the day than that is an extra bonus.  Also, don’t think you have to work out a hour every day.  You can sneak in little workouts here and there that are super beneficial.  A little goes a long way.  Even if you have five minutes, it is better than doing nothing.

Our Venice Studio just moved, we opened the doors on November 2nd so that is exciting to start the month with a new change.  Throughout the month we are going to have people popping into classes with goodies for our clients, a couple private blogger events in the studio, some pop-up clothing brands for sale and some fun collaborations before the end comes to a close.

Special thanks to Heather Dorak for taking the time to share her well with us.
