a few vegan questions and answers
WHAT IS A VEGAN?
veg·an  /ˈvēgən/
Noun
A person who does not eat or use animal products or a diet that excludes these products.

WHAT FOODS DO VEGANS NOT EAT?
Veganism is a type of vegetarian diet that excludes meat, eggs, dairy products and all other animal-derived ingredients. Many vegans also do not eat foods that are processed using animal products, such as refined white sugar and some wines. Most vegans also avoid the use of all products tested on animals, as well as animal-derived non-food products, such as leather, fur and wool.
WHAT DO VEGANS EAT?This happens to be one of the most common question about veganism. A vegan diet includes all grains, beans, legumes, vegetables and fruits and the nearly infinite number of foods made by combining them. Many vegan versions of familiar foods are available.

HOW CAN I OR SHOULD I BECOME VEGAN?First, you’ll have to determine if it’s something you really want to do and more importantly determine why.  I grew up in a partially vegetarian household. My dad was a devoted vegetarian and my mom was a dedicated meat eater. Nonetheless, being exposed to both lifestyles made for an interesting childhood, to say the least. It also helped to sculpt my eating preferences and enlightened me to both sides of the “non meat eating” and “meat eating fence.” I gave up beef about 17 years ago, but continued to eat poultry products. More recently, I’ve seriously considered converting all the way to becoming a vegan.  To be honest, I don’t think I necessarily eat meat because I love it. I feel as if I’ve eaten it primarily because it’s always been convenient and customary in the circles and social settings that I keep. With that said, I’ve started entertaining it more and more, especially with the accessibility of a wide array vegan products, eateries and helpful information about maintaining a vegan lifestyle. What I have vowed is that if I transition to a vegan lifestyle, I will not alienate people who do not opt to be vegans and I would hope that others will not alienate me for being a vegan (if and when I finally decide that is what I want to do). Inevitably, it’s obviously a very personal decision that may require a great deal of thought and introspection. Some people easily go from eating meat to becoming a vegan right away, while others battle with their new commitment, or choose to go vegetarian first and then slowly exclude dairy and eggs. Thankfully, there’s no right or wrong way to do it, but it might be helpful to learn about what’s worked for other people. It might also be helpful to consider utilizing the assistance of an vegan/nutrition expert.

“Going meatless is growing in popularity. Every day you hear of a new celebrity or celebrity health expert gravitating towards a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle. Making the decision to adopt a meatless way of life is a personal one and based on a variety of convictions. A common misconception is that by getting rid of animal-based products, you will automatically notice a change in weight, more energy and an improved overall sense of well-being. This is where it’s important to understand the distinction between a plant-based whole foods diet and a diet where the sole focus is on getting rid of meat. This is where you need VeganizeMe!
The VeganizeMe Kickstart Plan is designed to show you how to make the transition from meat-eater to healthy vegan. A vegan or a vegetarian diet can be healthy and fabulous when done the right way.
